At its core, Living Stones exists to feed the hungry in our communities. Hunger in America has many faces. Some belong to the urban homeless, living under bridges or in shelters; most cities have missions and programs to help them. Others are much more difficult to recognize. They live in suburban poverty. Many are lonely. Some are elderly, unable to make ends meet on their social security checks. Some have disabilities. Some may have lost a job, become ill, faced a crisis, or are just “down on their luck,” as they often say. These are the people we most often serve. For some reason, they’re struggling to feed themselves and, oftentimes, their families. Whether for the short- or long-term, they need help. Living Stones exists to give them a little of that help. And it all begins with a meal, with an invitation to come to the table.
